Congratulations to all for ensuring that our first celebration of this holiday was a safe one, with few admits to the Fourth as a result of the revelry. I hope that this can continue for the New Year's festivities this coming weekend as well.

And thank you all for the lovely gifts. Each and every one of them is greatly appreciated.

[Now, Christmas gifts!

Everyone on the network (even you, Aizen) gets a bundle of small fireworks - Poppers, Snapdragons, Spirals - arranged in a neat bundle that looks like a flower arrangement, the colorful paper wrappings in red, black, white, green and blue. Attached to each is a card:

Warning: Fireworks can cause fire. Do not operate in the direction of things flammable as this might set cause them to catch fire. This applies to people as well (Though if you do manage to manage to set someone on fire with these, please write us with the tale, we love this stuff!). The Shiba Family is not responsible for loss of property, life, limb, pets, clothes, the elderly, or annoying neighbors due to the negligent use of this product. Also, do not fire while point at your face or genitals.

-Happy Holidays and a Lucky New Year, Shiba Kuukaku.

Ichigo gets a bottle of chocolate liquor and a set of three books that are antique zanjutsu manuals, hand-written and hand-drawn pages describing a very old style of swordplay that's a derivitive of kendo.

Renji gets a bottle of unique whiskey a head scarf.

Rukia gets a bottle of pink vodka and a book thats a "How To" drawing manual for bodies and people, including explanations of muscle groups and poses.

Urahara gets a bottle of booze thats right up his night owl alley and a hat.

Shunsui gets a bottle of whiskey and a modern-looking sake set.

Ukitake gets a bottle of green tea (kinda) and a fountain for his new garden

Orihime gets a bottle of colorful drink and a nice skirt.

Unohana gets a bottle of herbal liquor and a parasol.

Isane gets a bottle of peppermint schnapps and a thank you note for... ya know... saving her life.

Kensei gets a bottle of nice bourbon  and a cookbook that amused her.

It's a day late, but Hanatarou finally managed to get all his gifts together and wrapped and delivered. Well. That almost makes it a surprise, doesn't it?

For Unohana-taichou, there is a small comb that will arrive wrapped very carefully in bright rice paper.

Kotetsu-fukutaichou's gift is a small sewing kit that includes some very tiny needles good for very tiny detail work along with some beads. Hanatarou isn't certain what she might do with the beads, but he thought they looked nice.

Miss Sachiko has a wrapped bundle of items that the merchant assured Hanatarou would be good for mapmaking. It's a leather pouch that holds a few pens and rolled up sheets of paper, along with small pots of ink. Hopefully something suitable for making maps as the path is discovered.

He wasn't sure what to get Miss Rukia, but he found set of Chappi stickers and a Seaweed Ambassador plushie.

He really hopes he hasn't forgotten anyone.

It is later in the day when Unohana finds the time to deliver her gifts, but as should be expected, she is not late for the occasion.

Isane will recieve this lovely glass vase well suited for flower arrangements, this small statue, due to somewhat of a resemblance to Itegumo. She will also receive this set of porcelain dogs, just because they're cute.

Ukitake shall find that he now has a rather handsome fish themed vase, and also, a beautiful painting of a cozy nighttime scene.

Shunsui will be greeted with this flowered blanket. Also, because none could forget his love of the drink and bright colours, he shall be graced with this very whimsical decanter.

Hanatarou has not been forgotten. To aid him in bettering his abilities, he will be presented with this book, and a fond wish for his success.

Merry Christmas, all.

-=Filtered to Fifth Division peeps, yo=-

Hey everyone, don't forget the Christmas party tonight! Let's all enthusiastically celebrate the holidays together, okay?

[Rikichi's on a tight budget, so he was only able to get a few presents for people in his Division.

Renji-san, aka "The Coolest Captain Ever," gets a super awesome ribbon (except it says "Coolest Captain Ever" instead of "First Place"). The other thing is a soccer ball, for future futsal needs.

Hinamori-fukutaichou enjoys reading, so for her to display some of her books, she's getting a lovely set of bookends.

Since Sachiko-san loves bracelets, she receives them in abundance. They're all organized in groups of five and tied to green floral wire to look like a bouquet of bangles.

Muguruma-san's gift is a kit for cleaning, oiling, and sharpening blades. Rikichi hopes it's put to good use!]

{22} Merry Christmas!

{'Tis the season of giving, and through the Divisions, the Fourth's lieutenant has been out delivering provisions. Gifts made and selected for friends with great care, regardless of when old Saint Nick will get there. She's made her rounds all throughout the Gotei, without the assistance of reindeer or sleigh. I'm going to stop with the rhyming right now... and if I forgot you, please don't have a cow! You'll probably get something later, anyhow.

For certain captains (4, 5, 6, 10, and 13), their gifts come with large handkerchiefs made of fine silk (don't worry, gentlemen; only Unohana's is bordered with handmade lace). Each one is embroidered with the Division's crest (like those on the back of the captain's haori) surrounded by their representative flower. Those who didn't get a handkerchief all received a unique lace snowflake made from white and silver thread. A lot of care went into the creation of these, and she hopes they're enjoyed.

For Kira, an anthology of poetry, ranging from haiku to villanelles to sestinas. It's nicely bound in leather and the pages are gilt.

Unohana-taichou gets the aforementioned handkerchief, plus several parcels of herbs and roots with various medicinal uses. These parcels come in a beautifully glazed vase, which is perfect for arranging flowers.

Hanatarou's gift is a special gourd which has been hollowed out and decoratively glazed. It's a birdhouse! A small hole has been cut in the side so that birds can climb in and out of the gourd.

Renji gets a badass pair of sunglasses, with a note about being careful not to wear them in combat. There's also a gag "frequent flyer" card (with a picture of Renji making a silly face) with a brochure detailing how points are accrued (visits due to injuries), what various injuries are worth (burns, stabs, and broken bones all have different point values), how to redeem them, and what the prizes are (candy).

Momo gets several lengths of silk hair ribbons in various colors and a set of hand-written index cards of simple recipes (which are intended to be cooked under Isane's personal supervision <3).

Sachiko gets several pots with clippings of plants (mostly herbs and flowers) and a write-up of the medicinal value of each one.

The present Byakuya receives is an intricately-carved ivory comb, which is wrapped in the kerchief. It's both decorative and functional.

Kyouraku-taichou will be able to enjoy all the sake that everyone else is giving him in a very fine sake cup. There's also a note from Isane promising to join him for a drink sometime when she's not on duty.

Nanao will receive a new paper fan (yes, it's the same kind she uses to keep her captain in line) and a kidou text.

For Hitsugaya-taichou, there is a beautiful glass paperweight to go on his desk. It has a snowflake pattern inside made from captured air bubbles.

Rangiku gets a gift-certificate to her favorite cosmetics store and a set of silky brushes to apply it with.

Ukitake-taichou's present is a pretty little bonsai tree, along with a package full of fresh ohagi, which have been paired with several satchels full of fragrant tea.

Merry Christmas, everyone!}

[[A few gifts from Iba, just because he's caught up in the fun.

Komamura-taichou receives a package on his desk with a selection of specially-made large size sunglasses. You know the kind: Made for dogs. (But not those pink ones!)

Sachiko gets a potted Christmas Rose delivered to her office. The note attached wishes her a good day -- and a quick addendum that tells her the heather is doing fine, but maybe she should come check on it anyway.

Hisagi Shuuhei gets a special delivery. These sunglasses come with a note that says
Cheers, man! Knew you had it in you... 'Cept, I guess she had in her, too. Now I believe you.]]

[[ooc; one more Christmas post from Kel, then I'm done, promise.]]

A Merry Holiday to all! I hope you are all eating cake.

[Ururu will find herself with a new peacoat for those really cold days, and a pair of gloves to match. And because no kid really appreciates a practical gift as much as an impractical one, there's a photo album so she can catalogue all those pictures she's probably taken with that camera she got for her birthday, and a package of markers so she can decorate the pages if she so chooses.

Ukitake will receive a sampler of fine teas from India (don't ask how he got them) and a scarf, mostly for lulz; he just couldn't NOT get it for him. (ignore that the model is a woman >.>)

Kyouraku gets a basket with sampler bottles of seven different sakes each decorated like the seven lucky gods.

For Unohana there is a series of ikebana woodblock prints to hang wherever she chooses.

Ryuuken receives a zippo lighter with a blue stripe and a small basket of European teas.

There is also a small package for Kensei, with a stout little bottle of sake and a chunky copper anklet. There is a note with the anklet, indicating it has a reiatsu monitor and beta-tested suppressant mounted in the band, so that if there is ever a time in the future when his reiatsu fluctuates erratically or becomes potentially unstable, it may help regulate the levels. This is, of course, still in the testing stages, and if Kensei should choose not to wear it there won't be any hard feelings; he's just trying to help.

PS. No, he didn't forget you, Kuukaku, your gift will be given in person once you've recovered from your injuries. ~_^]

So what's this weird holiday thing? There's lights and music and all kinds of weird stuff in the next town over, and some big fat guy dressed in a red suit laughing sinisterly in front of shops. What gives?

[*yeah, Renji's in on this Christmas stuff, too. Orihime was given her gift already, but Renji made sure to make a quick detour to the living world to drop off a few other things after work on Thursday.

For Rukia there's a pale blue haori with Chappy on it for home, and this scarf for leaving the house.

Ichigo gets an old volume of Shinigami theatre scripts from his academy days--he doesn't know anything about this Shakespeare guy Ichigo's so fond of, but there's a few decent plays in this old book if you can get through the archaic Japanese. There's also a bar of spicy chocolate Renji tried once and hated with a passion, so he figures Ichigo would like it. There's also a little gift basket for Isshin and the girls (and sure, Kon too) with some treats from Soul Society he'd never seen anywhere in the living world.

There is a little gift basket for the gang at the Urahara Shouten with the same selection of treats from Soul Society.

Chad receives a pair of sparring gloves (that are actually used for hakuda training) and a card with an open invitation to drop by for a spar anytime.

Even Ishida gets a gift: six yards of blue silk from a vendor in Rukongai renowned for his fine craftsmanship. Renji's sure he can find some use for it.

For Kira, there's the usual selection of agar candies as well as a new calligraphy brush and inkstone.

Isane gets a few new fancy crystal beads for her hair and some new sewing needles. (And a squeaky toy for Itegumo he found at a shop in the living world and got a kick out of.) There's also a sheet of character stickers for Hanatarou. He's not sure if they're the ones he likes, but he tried.

Hinamori gets some peach candies and a pair of earrings, as well as a very old and hard-to-find hardcover first edition book of Rukongai fables, which is labeled as being from the whole division.

Rikichi will receive a plaque with a history of the Konoe name and their influence on history...just in case he really is one.

For Kensei there's a pair of wristbands and a bag of sour candies. He has no idea if he likes sour candies, but they seemed to suit him.

Sachiko gets a shiny new Rolodex. And Eight boxes of colored paperclips.

For Byakuya there is a bag of kaki no tane spicy crackers and a package of nice rice paper for his calligraphy. ...And one roll of six feet of the same paper for his giant calligraphy.

Hisagi receives a pad of blank sheet music paper and some new guitar strings (though he honestly isn't sure if they're the right kind).

Hitsugaya gets a tiny dragon letter opener for those really tetchy memos.

For Rangiku there is a flask of good sake and a bag of dried persimmon candies.

Kuukaku will receive some fireworks from the living world (though he's sure they can't hold a candle--it's the principle), a book of sword forms to practice with, and a voucher for a free zanjutsu refresher lesson when she's back on her feet.

And last but not least, there's a feng shui fountain for Nel, so she can safely watch the river flow wherever she is.

phew! did I miss anyone?*]

[[Hitsugaya's giving his gifts on Christmas Eve (mostly because Kel has three characters giving gifts and family time to account for too). They'll be delivered to each person during the afternoon/early evening hours.

Hinamori Momo will receive a small wrapped box and a vase with these flowers. (So the flowers don't quite match the vase, but... he figured she'd like both and it's the vase that really matters on this one. Cut flowers die anyway.) In the box is a pink opal necklace and he rather hopes she looks up what the opals mean. If she doesn't... Well, it's still the thought that counts.

Matsumoto Rangiku receives two wrapped boxes. In response to his birthday present, one of them is this book. The other is a little nicer: a set of cups that reminded him of her.

Abarai Renji even gets something. Hitsugaya noticed all those plants in his office and he thinks this banana tree is perfect.

Kotetsu Isane will receive a small gift as well, with a small note that says
"Hyourinmaru and I appreciate the help."

Merry Christmas, friends. Not that Hitsugaya would say it or anything.

There's a bit of a backlog in the Tenth. If anyone's expecting anything from us, be patient. If it's urgent, just let me know.

Squad leaders, have your reports in by this weekend; I'll need them for January's duty rosters.

Okada, your team is scheduled to patrol in the Living World on Monday. I'll be taking that patrol; you and your team will stay here. You'll assist Squad Four in their duties that day.

Unsurprisingly, the shinigami continue to keep amongst themselves. Not completely without occurrence, however. I wonder what that was about. Some sort of struggle. It's unfortunate that she realized the transmission was open, but I certainly cannot have been the only one that saw what of it had been public. Hn.

Otherwise, focus has apparently turned towards festivities of some kind. Inoue has mentioned such before, but I still haven't seen the point to it. How quick and easily they all seem to brush off some situations. ...and then there are those that are just as tenacious in their own followings. I care not for the Captain of the Twelfth using me as a point of study.

It's been long enough. Aizen has requested a report of me, and I have yet to make it. It has been disappointingly blank here, and nothing has surfaced in regards to shinigami observations on those creatures. Perhaps I should just go back to Hueco Mundo...

[ooc: Nope, not forward-dated at all! Aren't timezones grand?]

When Ukitake exits his office to visit his garden this morning, he will find a variety of new winter plants awaiting him, all awaiting their chance to be put into the ground. These plants include Sweetbox, as well as some purple hellebore.

Adding to this, he will also see some Winter Heath and a few (small) Chinese Juniper.

Tied to one of the juniper bushes is a note that reads as follows:

"To help you in your quest to beautify your new garden and make it feel more like home. And I shall aid you in the planting when you wish to do so. Happy birthday, Jyuushirou.
